Let’s go - Are you ready for a 2022 wedding?

Karl Salter

Congratulations on getting married this year! In order to help you with your final preparations, we are delighted to share the wedding trends of 2022.

TREND 1: 2022 let’s go digital

The current somewhat sterile conditions has meant that many couples have had to up their game when it comes to technology. Like 2021, weddings this year have only a limited number allowed to attend. Some of your entourage, that you would have loved to share the day with, will therefore have to attend via their screens. With so many ways to communicate, we are still able to share the joy of marriage digitally. But digital ceremonies do require a little more effort visually in terms of decoration.

If you decide to use Zoom or Skype, you are only able to convey a limited amount of the event and its setting, so it's important to grab the attention of your virtual guests with strong decorative statements -  like bold colours.

This can be achieved with the choice of your flower arrangements or the confetti that you decide to use. We recommend our peony petals for their extra-large size and their vibrant colours. Whether you pick a deep red colour like Karl Rosenfeld or a more exotic colour like Coral Sunset, our dried peony confetti are impossible to ignore.

The photobooth is another 2022 wedding trend incorporating technology. It is a photo corner that allows guests to take fun and entertaining photos. It really adds the wow factor to the event and guests are able to take their snaps home with them. Choose your theme (retro, vintage, romantic... ) and throw in a couple of accessories like wigs, hats, costumes and our gorgeous peony confetti. Their bright colours are the perfect finishing touch. If you want to go all out, connected photobooths are the ideal choice as they allow you to print the pictures directly or send them by email.

As much as we like these virtual details, we can’t wait to get back to the real thing in 2022!

TREND 2: 2022 let’s embrace authenticity

Recently, weddings have become more eco-friendly and sustainable. Many couples choose a French country style wedding - a far cry from the traditional english wedding. Couples choose to dine outside, in a natural setting (like a beach in the Camargue or a vineyard in the Provence), embracing a special dress code (floral dresses for the ladies and suspenders and bow ties for the gentlemen), to party under the night sky or around a warm fire.

Sophisticated simplicity is what 2022 is all about. Weddings focus on creating a warm and authentic ambiance. This can be achieved with decorative elements from nature. We suggest selecting furniture made of weathered or driftwood or visiting a thrift shop for romantic, French vintage pieces to really embrace a sustainable mindset. Dried or fresh flowers can be used to create your own arch or garlands. In fact, use dried flowers in all details of your wedding, from your bouquet to the buttonholes of the groomsmen. Dried flowers can be used to decorate the locks of your bridesmaids and to decorate your reception table. For a country feel, you can choose sprigs of Provence lavender and wheat. For a more modern ambiance, use rose petals or dried peony petals for a more original approach. What do you think about mixing our Command Performance petals that are a dazzling red and our Duchesse de Nemours, in a subtle cream tone? All Together Now is perfect if you are looking for a more romantic vibe.

TREND 3: let’s make memories

Shared memories are another 2022 wedding trend that we cannot get enough off. The already mentioned photobooth allow your guests to leave with photos of your day, but we can do even better! In these strange times, that little extra attention to detail will make all the difference with your limited number of guests.

Gift bags are the perfect solution. They can include photos from the photobooth, some beautiful accessories, some delicious delicacies (cookies or rose scented sweets?), a unique and thoughtful present for the witnesses and the children and a small bag of the confetti that accompanies the ceremony. How beautiful will this look, wrapped up in fabric or an eco friendly tote-bag?

Love the idea of a gift bag? Why not suggest a 'welcome present' at the start of the wedding? It can contain the schedule of festivities, the upcoming menu, a hand fan (for the Summer wedding), handkerchiefs (for those happy tears) and dried petal confetti (peony, rose, wildflowers)! All these extra details will make your wedding a truly unforgettable one.
