Is your wedding confetti really grown in France?
Yes. Our peonies are grown by us on our own flower farm in Provence, in the South of France.
We grow the flowers, hand-pick them and naturally dry the petals here on the farm before preparing and packing your confetti ourselves.
Are any of your petals imported?
No. We do not buy imported petals to make our confetti.
The peony petals in our collections come from flowers grown by us here in Provence. This means we know exactly where our petals come from and how they have been grown and prepared.
Are your petals stabilised or artificially preserved?
No. Our peony petals are naturally dried.
They are not stabilised or artificially preserved to keep them soft or fresh-looking. We prefer to let the natural beauty and colour of the peony petals speak for themselves.
What is the difference between naturally dried and stabilised petals?
Naturally dried petals have had their moisture removed through drying, allowing them to be stored and used long after the flowers have been harvested.
Stabilised flowers and petals are treated using preservation processes designed to maintain a fresh appearance and softer texture.
At Pétales de Provence, our confetti is made from naturally dried peony petals grown and picked on our own farm.
Is your peony petal confetti biodegradable?
Our confetti is made from real, naturally dried peony petals rather than paper or plastic confetti.
Because they are natural flower petals, they biodegrade naturally, making them particularly suitable for outdoor wedding confetti throws.
Always check your wedding venue’s individual confetti policy before ordering.
Do you dye your petals?
No. The colours you see are the natural colours of the peony varieties we grow.
From soft blush pink and romantic rose tones to brighter pinks, reds and corals, the differences come from the flowers themselves rather than artificial colouring.
Why do you use peony petals for wedding confetti?
Peonies produce wonderfully large petals that create a beautiful cloud of colour when thrown.
They also photograph beautifully and have long been associated with romance, love and happy marriage — which makes them particularly fitting for weddings.
And, of course, we might be slightly biased: we grow seven hectares of peonies here in Provence!
How much wedding confetti do I need?
As a general guide, 1 litre of our dried peony petals gives approximately 10–12 generous handfuls.
For a traditional confetti throw, we recommend approximately:
50 guests — 5 litres
75 guests — 7–8 litres
100 guests — 10 litres
150 guests — 15 litres
200 guests — 20 litres
You don’t necessarily need confetti for every wedding guest. What matters most is having enough people gathered around you to create that wonderful cloud of petals for the photographs.
How many handfuls are in one litre of peony confetti?
Approximately 10–12 generous handfuls.
The exact number will naturally vary depending on how generous each handful is!
Can I mix different peony colours?
Absolutely.
Mixing different colours is one of our favourite ways to create confetti that complements the flowers, wedding colour palette or venue.
You can choose romantic soft tones, brighter Provençal colours or combine several peony varieties to create your own look.
Can I order samples before choosing my confetti?
Yes. If you’re unsure which colours will work best for your wedding, samples allow you to see the real petals and natural colours before making your final choice.
Because these are real flowers rather than artificially manufactured colours, small natural variations are part of their beauty.
When should I order my wedding confetti?
You don’t need to wait until just before your wedding.
Because our peony petals are naturally dried, they can be ordered in advance and stored until your celebration.
When ordering, please give us your wedding date so we know exactly when your petals will be needed.
How should I store my peony petal confetti?
Keep your petals somewhere cool, dry and dark, away from direct sunlight, heat and humidity.
Correct storage helps preserve their natural colour and quality until your wedding day.
How long do dried peony petals last?
When correctly stored in a cool, dry and dark place, dried peony petals can be kept well in advance of your celebration.
This is one of the advantages of naturally dried petals — you don’t need to worry about keeping fresh flowers alive until the wedding day.
Can peony petals be used for more than the confetti throw?
Definitely.
As well as the traditional wedding confetti throw, our dried peony petals can be used for petal aisles, flower-girl baskets, table decoration, photographs and other decorative details around your celebration. Don't stop at weddings, proposals, romantic nights, birthdays, christmas and farewell at funerals too.
Do you deliver wedding confetti throughout Europe?
Yes. We are based in Provence and send our peony petal confetti to weddings throughout France and Europe.

Where is Pétales de Provence?
Pétales de Provence is based on our flower farm in Provence, in the South of France.
This isn’t simply where we pack our confetti — it’s where the flowers themselves are grown.
From planting and growing our peonies to picking, naturally drying, preparing and packing their petals, the journey happens here on our farm.
